Can I use the shaker in the microwave?

The base of the shaker can be used to heat the milk in the microwave. The lid cannot go in the microwave.

Simply, heat your milk in the microwave, once heated, add the chocolate, apply the lid in the 'pressed down' position and shake.

How can I make more than just one cup of hot chocolate?

There are two ways in which you can do this:

1. If you heat all your milk in a pan or jug, simply, make one hot chocolate after another. We can make a shaken hot chocolate in under 10 seconds, so making two, three or four hot chocolates can be done very quickly if you have a ready supply of hot liquid.

2. Add two or three portions of chocolate to the shaker and add your hot liquid to level 8 in the shaker. Shake! Pour evenly between the cups, and then add addiional milk to the cups and stir to enjoy. The reason this works well is because once you have created an emulsion (the binding of chocolate with the hot liquid) you can add additional liquid to the emulsion and it will join the original emulsion without the need for additional stirring! (This probably sounds a little scientific, but trust us it works!)

How can I make a bigger Hot Chocolate?

To make a bigger hot chocolate, simply shake your hot chocolate, pour it into your cup and add additional hot liquid to your hot chocolate and stir.

By forming the initial smooth emulsion (binding the chocolate with the hot liquid) in the shaker, it allows you to add additional liquid which can be stirred in and the additional liquid will join effortlessly with the original emulsion. (It's a bit scientific, but trust us, it works!)

How can I make a hotter Hot Chocolate? (using a microwave)

The shaker should be used with a maximum temperature of 85 degree C liquid, which we believe is the perfect temperature for hot chocolate as it releases the maximum flavours of the chocolate. However, if you do want a hotter hot chocolate, simply shake your hot chocolate, remove the lid, put the base in the microwave to increase the temperature of the hot chocolate.

How can I make a hotter Hot Chocolate? (using a hob)

However, if you do want a hotter hot chocolate, simply shake your hot chocolate, pour the contents back into the pan and heat up more.

The shaker is all about emulsifying the chocolate and hot liquid, so once you have formed an emulsion, you can the heat up more, add more liquid and simply stir and enjoy.

How do I take the lid off?

Our lid is designed with a bayonet lid, it does not screw completely off. With the numbers facing you, turn the lid 1cm to the right and lift the lid up

What chocolate can I use in the shaker?

You can use any powder, chocolate drop or chocolate flake!

How do you make a chocolate milkshake?

Create an emulsion in the shaker by using your chocolate and a small amount of hot liquid, once the emulsion is formed, add ice, cold milk and ice cream!
