At the beginning of the month we attended the 2012 Speciality & Fine Food Fair held at Olympia in London.
The Speciality & Fine Food Fair is a trade only show, and is a great opportunity for businesses like ours to meet potential new stockists. This year we decided just to attend showcasing our honeycomb brand Hokey Pokey.
It is always difficult to try and decide on how best to display your products, and create the impact that we were trying to achieve. One great success for us this year was deciding that instead of handing out business card, we would hand out individually wrapped pieces of honeycomb to the guests which also included our relevant contact information.
Shortly before the show we decided to have a new stand designed, and our graphic designer Tristan did a great job designing some new wall panels, and although our stand was small, it certainly looked great.
Duncan manned the stall for all three days, and Al attended on the first day to help set up the stand. The first day was very busy with a number of independent shop buyers attending and we met some great new customers that have now received their first orders.
The second and third days were again spent meeting buyers for independent shops, in addition to meeting buyers from the likes of Selfridges and Harrods and meetings have been arranged for early 2013 which we hope means you might see our Hokey Pokey brand in some of London's most prestigious shops soon!
For us the show was a resounding success and we really enjoyed ourselves. It's great to meet new independent shops and we hope to attend again next year and meet even more potential customers then.
